Construction project of the new energy smart connected vehicle innovation experimental base

■ Project Nature: Large-scale new energy and intelligent connected vehicle R&D center
■ Construction Content: This project is located in Changchun City, Jilin Province, with a land area of approximately 266,300 square meters and a building area of about 270,000 square meters. It includes seven test workshops such as new energy and safety testing workshops for complete vehicles, transmission testing workshops, intelligent connected testing workshops, material testing centers, complete vehicle VIL testing workshops, and complete vehicle validation testing workshops, as well as related living and energy supporting facilities.
■ Project Progress: Construction started in September 2021 and was completed in December 2022.
■ Project Design Concept
This project focuses on the new energy and intelligent connected fields, conducting forward-looking experimental analysis work to improve FAW's R&D infrastructure in this field, supplementing and strengthening R&D testing methods, and meeting national changes in vehicle safety and national standard updates.
■ Project Features
The project is a digital, green, intelligent innovation test base based on 5G applications and fundamentally rooted in 'cloud' connectivity. It is an important support for the R&D of FAW Hongqi products and a milestone key project.
It fills the gap in the R&D General Institute's verification capabilities in multiple verification methods for intelligent connectivity and new energy, comprehensively enhancing the testing capabilities and levels of the R&D General Institute.
This project is a key project of Jilin Province's 'Three Early' projects, with high quality requirements and a short construction period. Construction began on September 15, 2021, with the main test workshops reaching warm closure conditions by the end of December. The SOP was achieved by the end of December 2022, which is unprecedented in the history of domestic automotive R&D base construction.
