66 years ago, Chen Zutao and other pioneers worked hard to establish China's first automotive factory design department. The predecessors accumulated knowledge through learning and created through exploration, gradually forming a technical and management system with the characteristics of Mechanical Ninth Institute, developing the factory design department into a comprehensive professional automotive factory design institute, the only one in the machinery industry.
With the reform and opening up of the national economic construction, Mechanical Ninth Institute gradually stepped into the tide of market economy from a government-designated industry planning and design unit during the planned economy era. After experiencing continuous baptism of market competition, we have stabilized our footing and are moving forward steadily! At the beginning of the new century, Mechanical Ninth Institute transformed from a cost center into a wholly-owned subsidiary of FAW Group. We seized the development opportunities in the automotive industry, rapidly shifted our business structure towards engineering management and general contracting, continuously expanded our business scale, further enhanced our industry status, and entered the top 100 in national project management and general contracting for several consecutive years, achieving new leapfrog development. In recent years, Mechanical Ninth Institute has adapted to the trend of the times, seeking high-quality development. In 2020, we successfully restructured, and in 2021 we underwent shareholding reform. We are currently in the process of going public, with continuous innovation in our system and mechanism that has greatly stimulated and released our development momentum.
Looking back at 66 years of fruitful spring and autumn, the construction achievements of over 6,600 engineering consulting, design, and contracting projects by Mechanical Ninth Institute are spread across the vast land of our country and more than 10 countries and regions. 288 projects have received national and provincial-level awards. New technologies developed independently such as swing rods, digital process planning, dry spray booths, direct drying furnaces, wax injection lines, VOCs treatment devices, and automated assembly systems for chassis have been successfully applied in engineering projects. Mechanical Ninth Institute is challenging high-end technologies in various professional fields! After 66 years of hard work and struggle, Mechanical Ninth Institute has created brilliant achievements, accumulated rich culture, and formed its own professional characteristics and operational advantages. Here, we sincerely thank several generations of employees for their youth, wisdom, and sweat dedicated to the company's development!
