■ Project Name: Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. R&D Center Phase III Process Planning and Design

■ Project Nature: Large-scale New Energy Passenger Vehicle R&D Center

■ Construction Content: This project is located in Hefei City, Anhui Province, with a building area of approximately 289,000 square meters, covering a complete vehicle platform and component testing center, battery and power system integration testing center, software integration testing center, R&D display building, and related energy support facilities.

■ Project Schedule: Design started in April 2023, construction to be completed by June 2025.

■ Project Design Concept:

This project focuses on forward-looking product design development and testing for Volkswagen's new energy passenger vehicles and components, improving the infrastructure construction of Volkswagen Technology Co., Ltd. in the R&D field, and meeting the verification of product safety and functionality according to national standards.

■ Project Features:

This project is Volkswagen's second largest R&D center globally, after the Wolfsburg R&D center in Germany.

This project integrates Volkswagen's electric vehicle R&D in China. The three joint ventures of Volkswagen in China—Volkswagen Anhui, SAIC Volkswagen, and FAW Volkswagen—will simultaneously undertake the production and sales of new vehicles developed by this project.

This project focuses on adaptive development around Volkswagen's universal electric platform in China, which adopts Volkswagen's latest CEA electronic and electrical architecture.

This project will help shorten the R&D cycle of Volkswagen's pure electric vehicle products in China by 30%. Under the new production and research model, the production cost of Volkswagen's pure electric new vehicles will be optimized by 40%.
