China Railway Construction Heavy Industry established the first industrial design center of China Railway Construction, creating a six-in-one technology innovation platform.

On December 21, 2016, at the 2016 Hunan Province (Shaoshan) Industrial Design Matching Conference organized by the Hunan Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission, the "China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Group Industrial Design Center" established by China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. passed the on-site inspection and technical review of the provincial industrial design center and was officially approved to be established and recognized as a provincial industrial design center. This is another innovative platform obtained by the group after successfully establishing a national-level enterprise technology center, engineering technology research center, engineering laboratory, postdoctoral research workstation, and academician expert workstation. It is also the first industrial design center established by China Railway Construction.
It is understood that industrial design is not only about designing industrial products but also represents the first process in manufacturing, a highly value-added link in the industrial chain, and an important means and carrier for enterprise and industry innovation. Developing industrial design is a crucial measure to accelerate the transformation of economic development methods, implement an innovation-driven development strategy, adhere to the path of new-type industrialization with Chinese characteristics, and achieve a transformation from large-scale to strong industrial capabilities. Since its establishment, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry has adhered to independent innovation, relying on the national-level enterprise technology center to actively develop and strengthen its core industrial design team, focusing on research in areas such as structure, shape, and human-computer interaction of tunneling machinery and special construction equipment products. Industrial design runs through the entire product design process, utilizing methods such as process design, appearance design, structural optimization, product demonstration animations, and model displays to apply industrial design methods to traditional underground engineering construction equipment. Through CFM research and VI design techniques, it has achieved excellence in processes and upgrades in product quality, shaping a high-end national brand image for underground engineering equipment. The significant development of industrial design has become an important guarantee for the company's competitiveness and has played a positive role in promoting technological progress and innovative development in the industry.
Experts from the Hunan Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission unanimously agreed during the review that China Railway Construction Heavy Industry's industrial design innovation capability is strong, distinctive, well-managed, and outstanding in performance, with a leading development level in the province.
