11Month8On the day of the grand groundbreaking ceremony for the Changan Automobile Thailand project, contracted by the Mechanical Ninth Institute, held at the Wehua Industrial Park in Rayong Province, Thailand. This project is Changan Automobile's first overseas production base and another EPC general contracting project undertaken by the Mechanical Ninth Institute in the Southeast Asian market.EPCgeneral contracting project. The project is located in the Putang District of Rayong Province, Thailand.WHAWehua East Coast Industrial Zone Phase Four, with a construction area exceeding3910,000 square meters and a building area of nearly1520,000 square meters. The project includes geological exploration, engineering design, civil construction public works, as well as welding production line machinery and equipment, painting production line, assembly production line, and other process equipment. The first phase is designed to have an annual production capacity of10100,000 vehicles/per year, with plans to start production in2025early 2024. After the second phase of construction is completed, the total production capacity will reach20100,000 vehicles/200,000 vehicles per year.
The official groundbreaking of the Thailand manufacturing base marks another upgrade in the cooperation between the Mechanical Ninth Institute and Changan Automobile.
