[Xia Nan reported] Recently, the trade union of the group company recognized 58 outstanding individuals who made significant contributions to the group's excellent business performance in 2014, awarding them the 2015 China FAW 'May Day Labor Medal'. Among them, Yang Nan from our college's School of Civil Engineering and Architecture's Structural Design Office received this honor.
Yang Nan, who joined the company in 2003, currently serves as the assistant director of the Structural Design Office in the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and is also the head of the three-dimensional design team in the school.
Diligent in learning and pioneering. Since starting work, he has consistently adhered to learning. Combining practical design work, he strives to learn professional knowledge, humbly seeks advice, and simultaneously improves his foreign language skills. From 2007 to 2011, he also pursued a graduate degree at Tongji University’s School of Economics and Management, obtaining a master's degree in Management Science and Engineering.
Dedicated to his job and achieving excellent results. 'Rigorous, meticulous, and pragmatic' is his work style; he always holds himself to high standards and possesses a strong sense of responsibility, service awareness, and coordination ability. Since starting work, he has participated in completing over 120 structural design tasks for projects such as passenger car companies and technology centers, provided on-site services for 12 projects, managed four general contracting projects including the Haqing relocation project, and worked on over 20 three-dimensional design projects.
In recent years, he has actively learned and mastered three-dimensional technology, gradually integrating it into engineering design. Due to the complexity of automotive industrial painting workshops, frequent modifications during construction have led to increased costs. To address this issue, he led a three-dimensional team to complete the group's scientific research project 'Three-Dimensional Design of Painting Workshop'. In the second phase of the painting three-dimensional design project at FAW-Volkswagen Foshan, a total of 164 interference points were modified, avoiding a large amount of on-site collision modifications while saving nearly one million yuan in project costs and ensuring the construction progress of the painting workshop. His patient and meticulous work received unanimous praise from foreign experts involved in the project. During the on-site construction phase, through three-dimensional model guidance and coordinating with the owner to orderly arrange each supplier's construction sequence, he efficiently and accurately completed the project construction phase work.
Enthusiastic about party and youth league work, serving a wide range of young people. After starting work, he has served as a youth league cadre in the school and actively participated in youth volunteer and poverty alleviation education activities. In line with the characteristics of work and business at the Ninth Institute, he established a study group for the Construction Engineering Youth League branch to provide concentrated training and explanation of exam questions for colleagues participating in registration exams.
