On January 22, the first qualified vehicle of the FAW Jiefang New Energy Light Truck Base project undertaken by the Ninth Mechanical Institute was ceremoniously rolled off the production line. Tian Haifeng, Deputy General Manager of Qingqi Company, Li Jin, Senior Director of the Technical Department, and Yu Yong, Director of the Painting Workshop attended the ceremony, witnessing this unforgettable moment together with the project teams from Qingqi Company, the Ninth Institute, and representatives from relevant parties!

The painting workshop includes non-standard equipment, electrical control equipment, mechanized equipment, and process equipment. All equipment is at an industry-leading level, focusing on creating an "intelligent, green, and flexible" automotive factory. The pretreatment uses automatic online detection and an automatic feeding system to save reagents. The electrophoresis uses IGBT overall distributed DC power supply for precise control of film thickness on various parts of the vehicle and improves uniformity while saving energy during power outages. The topcoat uses water-based B1B2 technology with high-quality and high-efficiency automatic spraying by robots. Small color changes use ball transfer for color change with "0 loss" of paint. The paint mist collection uses integrated large cardboard box technology, which is simple to operate and maintain, has low equipment costs, and low fire safety risks. The spray booth uses circulating air technology, and waste gas is treated with zeolite rotary wheels plus RTO combustion treatment to achieve low-carbon green coating.
The pre-paint grouping and post-paint delivery use double three-dimensional warehouses to achieve the minimum number of color changes while meeting the final assembly plan. Parts replacement, major repairs, and spot repairs are conveyed using AGV technology independently developed by the Ninth Institute. The central control system collects real-time data on process parameters, equipment monitoring, vehicle tracking, quality information, energy consumption, and environmental emissions throughout the entire painting production process, analyzing and displaying hundreds of data points.

The painting workshop's equipment arrived on April 15, 2021; main equipment installation was completed by July 31; single machine debugging was completed by October 31; full line joint debugging was achieved by November 17; electrophoretic paint was put into the tank on December 18; and the first qualified topcoat vehicle successfully rolled off on January 22, 2022. After ten months of hard work, the Ninth Institute project team fully leveraged its advantages as a general contractor, adhering to five principles: "proactive, cooperative, standardized, innovative, and trustworthy." They worked together with dedication to face complex construction site conditions including significant overlaps in civil engineering, utilities, and equipment; tight schedules; high construction difficulty; and complex surrounding environments. They completed all milestone goals set by the owner with quality and quantity assurance, earning high recognition from the owner and all relevant parties. On the eve of the Spring Festival, the roll-off of the first qualified topcoat vehicle is a tribute to the Year of the Tiger's New Spring and a tribute to all team members' hard work at the Ninth Institute. The project team will continue to move forward courageously to contribute to the growth of the Ninth Institute and to support clients' thriving businesses.
