On November 29, the inauguration ceremony of the new technology development center of FAW-Volkswagen, designed by the Ninth Mechanical Institute, was held in Changchun. Jilin Provincial Party Secretary Jing Junhai, Provincial Deputy Secretary and Governor Han Jun, FAW Group Chairman and Party Secretary Xu Liuping, and Director, General Manager, and Deputy Party Secretary Qiu Xiandong jointly unveiled the new technology development center of FAW-Volkswagen. Subsequently, the first safety crash test was conducted on-site, and the test results met the design target values.
The new technology development center of FAW-Volkswagen is located at the intersection of Dongfeng Street and Xing'an Road, adjacent to Dongfeng Street. This modern architectural complex with a strong sense of technology has become a landmark building in the surrounding area. The total investment for the project is 860 million yuan, with a total construction area of 70,000 square meters. It is equipped with industry-leading and China-leading testing equipment covering six major fields: vehicle safety, vehicle energy consumption and emissions, drive systems, body components, new energy, and intelligent lighting. The Ninth Mechanical Institute closely communicated with the client from the early stage of project design and successfully completed all task nodes including program planning, project approval, feasibility study preparation, preliminary design, bidding drawing design, construction drawing design, and on-site services, receiving unanimous praise from relevant leaders of FAW-Volkswagen and project team members.
The completion of the new technology development center of FAW-Volkswagen marks another leap in the design level and capability of the Ninth Mechanical Institute in research and testing projects, continuing to maintain a leading advantage in the industry.
