In the golden autumn of October, the construction site of the second phase of the FAW R&D General Institute is progressing smoothly. On October 9, the first section of steel column hoisting in Area 1 was successfully completed, and on October 10, the hoisting ceremony for the first steel column and the installation of the first section of steel beam in Area 3 was held, marking a new milestone in project construction.
Director Chen Jie of FAW R&D General Institute, Director Zhang Yudong of FAW Group Engineering and Logistics Production Department, Vice President Wang Tianyong of the Ninth Institute Construction Engineering Institute, Assistant Dean Zhang Qiming of the Construction Engineering Institute, and others attended the hoisting ceremony.
Continuous rainfall in September brought great difficulties to construction. The site adopted the principle of excavating foundation earthwork on sunny days and pouring concrete on rainy days for foundation construction while also accelerating the procurement and processing progress of steel structures. With the slow hoisting of the first steel column and steel beam in place, installation workers completed detailed node connections, marking the full-scale commencement of steel structure construction.
At the ceremony, Dean Wang Tianyong delivered a speech. First, he praised the project team for their spirit of striving for excellence and not fearing difficulties since entering the site; second, he emphasized the seriousness of milestone nodes before the end of the year and encouraged employees to overcome harsh weather conditions while ensuring quality to accelerate construction progress; third, he repeatedly stressed safety and civilized construction, proposing a zero-casualty goal for the project's entire lifecycle and advising against taking chances or working while unwell. The project team members are highly motivated and will continue to work with enthusiasm and strong execution to enhance departmental communication and collaboration, ensuring that the project is completed on time and with high quality!
