Recently, the equipment installation and debugging work for the expansion and renovation project of the PBS line in the assembly workshop of Xiaopeng Motors' Zhaoqing base has been completed, and production has begun, achieving the project phase goal 20 days ahead of schedule. From receiving the bid notification in late March 2021 to completing a series of tasks including project planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, and installation debugging in just over three months, the project team worked overtime and did not fear the scorching heat, ultimately fulfilling their mission.

This project is the first one undertaken by our institute for Xiaopeng Motors, and it is a project that involves both production and renovation. In response to unfamiliarity with the owner's management requirements and specific construction window periods, project manager Mao Yongsheng led team members Ma Junhui, Lu Wenlong, and Wang Haopan to carefully plan and closely cooperate at the beginning of the project while actively communicating with the owner. During the design phase, all drawings for the renovation plan were completed in just one week.
The two key construction window periods for the project were to complete the installation of the steel structure main body during the May Day holiday and to complete the renovation of old equipment and installation of new equipment within a week during the summer maintenance period in mid-July. The steel structure installation area is part of the logistics area and sub-assembly area of the assembly workshop. To ensure that daytime production was not affected by construction and to achieve the goal of completing the installation of the steel structure main body during May Day, the project team started night shift installation as soon as they entered the site in mid-April. A large number of logistics area material boxes had to be moved out before each night shift installation, and then restored in place early in the morning. After two weeks of night shifts and intensive construction during May Day, they successfully achieved the construction goal for the first window period. Due to constraints from automotive chip supply locations, Xiaopeng decided to advance the summer maintenance period by two weeks, which meant that our second key construction window period arrived earlier. Upon receiving this news, the project team took immediate action by contacting various suppliers to confirm delivery status; at the same time, Lande's pilot factory also actively adjusted its production plan to send the required installation equipment to the project site two weeks in advance.

The summer maintenance period coincides with Guangdong's scorching heat. On-site members Ma Junhui, Lu Wenlong, Wang Haopan, and Gou Yanchun tracked construction every day from 8 AM until 10 PM or even late into the night to ensure project progress. The electrical control engineers worked around the clock for debugging and finally completed all interface renovations between new and old equipment on the day before the end of maintenance, providing strong support for Xiaopeng Motors to resume production and enhance capacity. The expanded PBS line has now been delivered to the owner for production use. Through this project's implementation, our institute's project team has fought a successful battle in renovation engineering, fully demonstrating our strong design capability, manufacturing capability, installation debugging capability, and organizational coordination ability to the owner. The team's work results and attitude have also received high recognition from the owner, laying a solid foundation for our company to explore emerging markets.
