"Establishing a model for FAW painting, assisting the Hongqi brand in its leap forward." On June 17, the new painting workshop delivery and first vehicle off-line ceremony was grandly held at the FAW Ulsan plant for the NAT new energy vehicle enhancement project.

Jilin Provincial Party Secretary Jing Junhai, Provincial Deputy Secretary and Governor Han Jun, Provincial Standing Committee Member and Executive Vice Governor Wu Jingping, and other provincial and municipal leaders; FAW Chairman and Party Secretary Xu Liuping, Party Standing Committee Member and Vice General Manager Lei Ping, and other leaders attended the off-line ceremony. Dong Jinghua, Deputy General Manager of the Ninth Institute and Party Deputy Secretary, and Cui Zhaojun, Director of the Equipment Engineering Institute and General Manager of Landi Company, participated in the off-line ceremony. The NAT new energy vehicle enhancement project at FAW Ulsan plant is a turnkey project covering B+U and M+E. The project started construction in December 2019, equipment installation began in September 2020, and it officially went into production in May 2021. During the project construction process, it received high attention and strong support from leaders at provincial, municipal, and district levels, overcoming adverse impacts of the pandemic and achieving milestone goals 1.5 months ahead of schedule.

The painting workshop adheres to the design concept of "advanced, intelligent, green," creating a digitally driven green intelligent future factory. It employs digital means such as 3D design and virtual assembly to achieve rapid optimization and adjustment of plans; through robot offline simulation technology, it completes spraying tests in a virtual environment, effectively shortening the process debugging cycle.

The digital central control system combined with automated equipment realizes an intelligent production model. By utilizing technologies such as visual recognition and positioning, intelligent scheduling of three-dimensional warehouses, combined with advanced process technologies like automatic glue application for cabin sealing, sword brush robots for cleaning, and fully automatic spraying of intermediate coatings and topcoats, it enhances the automation rate of painting to internationally advanced levels.

The painting workshop applies new environmentally friendly materials such as non-drying PVC glue and water-based paints, combined with spray booth circulation air technology and zeolite wheel plus RTO waste gas treatment technology, significantly reducing VOCs and carbon dioxide emissions to achieve low-carbon green painting. The Ninth Institute assists FAW in deeply cultivating low-carbon development, leading with technological innovation, guided by energy structure optimization reform, implementing energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures, comprehensively laying out the green manufacturing production model for the 14th Five-Year Plan period, helping to achieve the national "30-60" dual carbon strategic goals. The first vehicle successfully rolled off the line from the painting workshop, marking the successful implementation of the last segment of the Hongqi production capacity enhancement project at Ulsan plant. This signifies that Ulsan plant has fully achieved an annual production capacity of 510,000 units, promoting high-quality leapfrog growth of the Hongqi brand. The Ninth Institute helps FAW accelerate on the fast track of automotive industry development, racing forward at high speed to lead the future!
