Ninth Institute Project Update | FAW Jiefang Liuzhou New Base Completed and Put into Production

With drums and gongs resounding and colorful flags fluttering, on May 11, the new FAW Jiefang Liuzhou factory, undertaken by the Ninth Institute for civil construction EPC general contracting, was completed and put into production at an extraordinary speed of 'construction in the same year, vehicles out in the same year.' Relevant government leaders and FAW Jiefang General Manager Zhu Qixin jointly unveiled the new factory. Company directors, General Manager and Party Secretary Liu Shixin, Dean of the Architectural Engineering Institute Wang Yige, and Assistant General Manager of the Business Center Li Rongjun were invited to attend the commissioning ceremony, witnessing this historic moment of the completion and production of the FAW Jiefang Liuzhou new base.
The FAW Jiefang Liuzhou new factory is located on Xiushui Hengliu Road in Liudong New District, covering heavy, medium, light trucks, and buses, involving traditional vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles, and new energy vehicles industries, with a first-phase production capacity of 20,000 units. On July 20, 2019, the 'FAW Jiefang Liuzhou Project Cooperation Agreement' was officially signed, and on the same day, the new factory was grandly laid down; on November 29, construction of the FAW Jiefang Liuzhou new base project officially broke ground. In the face of the sudden COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of 2020 and relatively significant flood season impacts, with strong support from various levels of government in Liuzhou and FAW Jiefang, through meticulous planning by the Ninth Institute project team and hard work from all construction parties, civil construction and process equipment installation were deeply intertwined, with underground engineering and aerial pipeline networks operating simultaneously. By June 2020, the main structure of the factory was completed, ensuring that equipment arrived on schedule on July 11. By December 30, the first complete vehicle rolled off the production line, marking the official entry into trial production phase for the new factory. The Ninth Institute built a modern new factory according to the 'liberation speed' requirement of 'construction in the same year, vehicles out in the same year.'
The completion of the project marks that FAW Jiefang Automobile Co., Ltd.'s southern complete vehicle production base, special vehicle production base, and ASEAN export base strategic layout have basically taken shape.
