Ninth Institute Project Update | FAW Hongqi New Energy Vehicle Factory Achieves Warm Closure

The FAW Hongqi New Energy Vehicle Factory project painting workshop was heated on December 20, 2020. The stamping, welding, assembly, battery electric drive, logistics center, and other workshops were also gradually heated. By December 30, all heating was completed. After six months of hard work, the Ninth Institute successfully achieved the major goal of warm closure for the project, receiving full recognition and affirmation from the Automobile Development Zone, construction units, and users.
On December 30, Song Zhiyong, Deputy General Manager of the Engineering and Production Logistics Department of FAW Group, along with Director Dong Wei, Director Wang Jia, Senior Director Liu Donglin, Lin Nan, Director of the Hongqi Service Bureau in the Automobile Development Zone, and other leaders including Luo Hongwei, Chairman and Chief Engineer of Changfa New Energy Investment Construction Co., Ltd., and Chief Engineers Shi Liwei visited the project site to express gratitude to the Ninth Institute and comfort the project team, presenting letters of appreciation! Yang Yumin, Deputy General Manager of the Ninth Institute, Assistant General Manager Shi Fu, and relevant leaders attended the appreciation meeting.
When speaking on behalf of all leaders, Song Zhiyong expressed that the Ninth Institute overcame difficulties such as tight schedules, limited construction conditions, and impacts from typhoons and freezing rain. With a selfless dedication and a spirit of sincere cooperation, they completed the project phase tasks with quality and quantity. FAW Group sincerely thanks the leaders and colleagues of the Ninth Institute who participated in and supported the prosperous project and hopes that in future cooperation, the Ninth Institute can work together with FAW Group to enhance mutual growth and prosperous development!
This project has great design and construction difficulties. In the startup phase, advanced concepts of separating people and vehicles were adopted along with an overhead pipe gallery scheme. New tilt photogrammetry technology was used to obtain terrain information to assist in site leveling construction, fully reflecting planning and design innovation. During the implementation phase, the Ninth Institute leveraged its advantage in leading design EPC general contracting mode to simultaneously promote design and construction. They scientifically arranged plans for overlaps, insisted on daily progress checks, timely took various measures to cope with adverse effects from typhoons and freezing rain, quickly implemented measures to expedite work, ensuring that the project reached its warm closure milestone. The project completed 4.83 million cubic meters of site leveling earthwork in 34 days and 480,000 meters of piling work in 45 days; over a hundred days were spent completing more than 2,300 foundation constructions, over 28,000 tons of steel structure construction, as well as installing walls covering 120,000 square meters across six major workshops, roofing covering 360,000 square meters, and 32 air conditioning units.
All participating personnel united as one through extraordinary efforts to successfully achieve the warm closure milestone by year-end. This created preconditions for subsequent process equipment to enter construction immediately and laid a solid foundation for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China!
