The new Hongqi factory is not only equipped with high-end processing equipment, but its aesthetics and design details are also worth appreciating. The most outstanding feature is the rich visual experience. In the exterior design of the Hongqi L platform assembly workshop, the project team maintained the retro style of the original factory building, using red as the main color to reflect brand characteristics and FAW's uniqueness, complemented by large glass curtain walls and photovoltaic panels, creating a classic and grand appearance that harmonizes well with the surrounding buildings.

As visitors enter the workshop, a sense of modernity strikes them, creating a strong visual contrast with the retro external environment. The interior of the workshop features white, light gray, and natural wood colors, eliminating most of the overhead steel structures and pipelines, making it transparent and bright. The simple and orderly island layout, highly automated processing equipment, and freely moving AGV carts give a strong sense of futurism.

The workshop also has a customization center and a delivery area. The L series models are state guest vehicles aimed at individuals with a new Chinese-style noble sentiment. The interior decoration of these two areas aligns with the style of Hongqi cars, featuring linen-colored carpets and wooden decorations that exude elegance.

Latest concept - customer visit experience
To provide visitors with a comprehensive 'immersive' experience, the project team designed a 64-meter-long suspended glass viewing corridor in the air above the workshop, allowing visitors to have an unobstructed view of the entire workshop. The operational logistics equipment and workers will not be disturbed by the presence of visitors. The glass material combined with the column-free truss support method gives a complete sense of transparency above the workshop.

In addition to experiencing the production scene of the L assembly workshop in person, visitors can also get an overview on screens. In the early stages of the project, the team from Institute Nine created a complete simulation system for verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of workshop processes, logistics, and machinery operations. After the factory was completed, the project team did not let this simulation system 'fade away,' but innovatively linked production MES system data with the workshop simulation system to achieve virtual-real interconnection, allowing visitors to see dynamic animations that correspond to actual production conditions. If they cannot visit on-site due to time or space constraints, it's not a problem; each workstation is equipped with high-definition cameras so customers can see their beloved car's production status from home.

To provide visitors with more new experiences, the project team added some new elements in workstation design.
The testing scenes in the rain test area and hub test area have a strong visual impact on visitors. In designing these areas, the project team broke conventions by innovatively using fully transparent glass rooms to allow users to directly see the quality verification process of Hongqi cars.

When a Hongqi car enters the light tunnel of the testing line, it gives a feeling of making a brilliant debut. Unlike ordinary light tunnels that have a strong splicing feel, the project team designed an integrated aluminum alloy frame light tunnel that has a smoother shape and is highly futuristic.

The new Hongqi L platform assembly workshop is China's first intelligent luxury car factory that integrates flexibility, customization, experiential aspects, and aesthetics. It is also a benchmark project for China's independent luxury car production lines. This project covers a wide range of areas with many innovations and significant construction challenges; however, every member of the project team holds ideals and does not fear hardships. 'New Hongqi, New Dreams,' Institute Nine is taking action!
