On January 8, 2018, Chairman Xu Liuping proposed the Hongqi brand strategy of "New Era, New Hongqi" at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, marking the beginning of a new chapter in revitalizing Hongqi. The new Hongqi has invested core resources to build a world-class manufacturing base, and the people of the Ninth Academy have taken the lead and made every effort in this new round of expansion for Hongqi.

Since the release of the new Hongqi brand strategy, the Ninth Academy has successively undertaken projects such as the H platform final assembly workshop, H platform painting workshop, L platform welding workshop, L platform final assembly workshop, HE platform welding workshop construction and mechanized transportation, advanced technology center, interior decoration, and exterior facade renovation at Changchun Hongqi Town.

The new Hongqi sedan is positioned as "China's No. 1, World Famous," and the new Hongqi production line is built according to the standards for producing C-class or D-class luxury sedans. The Ninth Academy collaborates closely with FAW Group's Development Department to plan a new blueprint for Hongqi. The three major engineering institutes work seamlessly together, using advanced technology, top-notch design, and comprehensive management to create the ideal factory envisioned by customers. The L platform final assembly workshop completed in August 2018 is not only a high-tech automated factory but also incorporates Chinese aesthetics, being rated as the "Most Beautiful Final Assembly Workshop." The H platform final assembly workshop completed and delivered in February 2019 is currently the most advanced "smart factory" and "green factory" in China.
