On the afternoon of February 1, as the Spring Festival of the Year of the Pig approaches, a Spring Festival themed folk activity titled "Red Envelopes to Celebrate and Wish for a Prosperous Year" was held in Meeting Room 401 of Building 1, organized by the Trade Union of the Ninth Institute and co-organized by the Reading Culture Promotion Association. Retired employee representatives, current employees, and their families gathered together to write couplets, fold red envelopes, discuss folk customs, and chat about family matters, bringing the festive atmosphere into the Ninth Institute in advance.
Writing couplets, eating candied hawthorn, and folding red envelopes are all warm and interesting activities that allowed employees to experience the warmest care and blessings during this cold winter. "Through wind and rain for sixty years, a bright future for a hundred strong institutes," "Thoughts lead to reform and development, serving the center with practical innovation for double satisfaction"... One after another, festive red couplets exuding fresh ink fragrance appeared before people's eyes, adding a strong festive atmosphere for the upcoming Spring Festival and fully showcasing the happiness and pride of the people of the Ninth Institute.
Under the guidance of calligraphy masters on site, employees held brushes and wrote couplets with ink, personally writing down their New Year blessings. Some employees also made red envelopes by hand to bring blessings to their families. Chinese calligraphy is the most representative national symbol in the excellent traditional culture of China over five thousand years; it is a treasure of our outstanding traditional culture. Every Spring Festival, Chinese children at home and abroad use calligraphy art to write couplets and paste 'Fu' characters. This has become a long-standing custom and excellent cultural tradition of the Chinese nation, which not only creates a lively, festive, and harmonious holiday atmosphere but also expresses people's expectations for the New Year and their longing for a better life. It will surely lead to new trends and new customs in the new era. This event responds to the call to inherit and promote traditional folk customs, promotes traditional Chinese culture, enriches employees' spiritual cultural life, and allows us to feel the charm of couplet art and calligraphy art.
