Future Mobility Corporation Limited (referred to as FMC) is an emerging joint venture in the "Internet + Smart Electric Vehicle" sector. The company's core R&D and design team includes top talents from BMW, Tesla, and Google. Its subsidiary, Zhixing Investment Company, will build a high-end smart electric vehicle production base in Nanjing, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan. The project covers an area of 1,600 acres and is scheduled to start production in 2019, with an annual output of 300,000 complete vehicles.
In July 2017, after receiving project information, our institute immediately organized a bidding team, gave up the summer vacation, and completed the bid document within a week to deliver it to Nanjing. The company leadership attached great importance to the project and personally led the project team to conduct on-site inspections in Nanjing. After one month of tracking, communication, and planning, the project team submitted the final design scheme, which received unanimous recognition from the client. In the project bidding at the end of August, our institute defeated strong competitors and won the FMC whole plant design project.
In addition to a professional design scheme, what impressed the client most was our commitment to the project. The overall plan for the FMC project is very tight, with 17 sub-items needing to start simultaneously. The client required that 60% of the construction drawings be completed by October 12, 2017. The overall design also needed to meet FM certification, full BIM requirements, and bilingual translation of drawings. To meet project needs, our institute's various departments responded quickly and organized a design team of 45 people to work on-site. The design team completed user requirement identification and plan decomposition in just one week and ahead of schedule met all user-set timelines during subsequent design work, completing all construction drawing designs within three months.
