The Ninth Institute has undertaken the first vehicle rollout of the paint line project for FAW-Volkswagen's Tianjin factory.

[Kong Xiaoming Report] Waving goodbye to 2017, we joyfully welcomed the first day of the new year. This day is particularly memorable for every member of the FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin plant topcoat line project team. After more than half a year of relentless efforts from all members, on January 1, 2018, the FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin plant topcoat line project successfully achieved the critical milestone of the first topcoat vehicle rolling off the production line! The FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin plant project is a national strategic layout of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., and an important support for achieving the strategic vision of an annual production of 3 million vehicles by 2020. The topcoat line P1B package is the core module of the FAW-Volkswagen painting workshop, which has previously been awarded to DURR and Eisenmann companies. In this project, Jiuyuan Lande is the first to obtain this core module, breaking the foreign suppliers' monopoly on the market.

Due to FAW-Volkswagen's urgent desire to launch its brand SUV models into the market as soon as possible, this project faced many difficulties from the very beginning, including heavy tasks and tight schedules. During the process, FAW-Volkswagen repeatedly requested to compress the construction period. Starting from September 2016 with process equipment design, installation began in June 2017, with a requirement to complete the first vehicle by January 1, 2018, and SOP by June 30, 2018, giving this project only about 60% of the time compared to similar projects at FAW-Volkswagen! At the same time, this project is the most technically complex and advanced engineering project that Jiuyuan Lande has undertaken for FAW-Volkswagen over the years. The paint booth uses a currently popular dry lime powder filtration system for paint mist treatment. Features such as a fully stainless steel outer shell for filters, upgraded filter elements, all-around mixing hoppers, and independent valve islands for single filter units ensure its advancement, stability, and service life. The structure of the paint booth adopts the most advanced wall panel structure currently available, characterized by innovative design and aesthetic appearance. This is the first time our institute has fully mastered design, manufacturing, and installation, filling a domestic gap.
The drying room uses the latest direct-flow drying room design. It is a set developed based on advanced structures both domestically and internationally that features good air sealing and energy-saving properties. During development, three-dimensional simulation technology was used to verify the heating conditions of the vehicle body and air sealing effects. It has characteristics such as improved thermal efficiency, reduced investment in mechanical equipment, and lower operating costs. At the same time, it undertakes Volkswagen's deep dehumidification water-based paint drying furnace according to standards for the first time, completing design independently while engaging in technical exchanges with Germany's Heck company throughout design, manufacturing, and installation processes, accumulating a wealth of experience.
In line with our institute's core philosophy of 'regarding user needs as our own responsibility and creating competitiveness for users', we always pay attention to 'urgent user needs and user thoughts', thinking from the user's perspective. No matter how difficult it is to meet user requirements, we make every effort to satisfy them. During this process, company leaders also provided strong support by visiting the site multiple times to understand on-site difficulties and quickly approving various applications on-site while making important directives on how to expedite project progress. Various departments within the company also provided substantial support in terms of manpower and resources; procurement work and comprehensive logistics were arranged in an orderly manner. The project team also focused on integrating various domestic and international resources to manage comprehensively in terms of progress, quality, safety, etc., ensuring healthy operation of the project. A complete organizational structure was established for the project with detailed progress plans based on milestone nodes for construction management and safety management standards. We consistently tracked weekly and daily plans meticulously while valuing owner needs and responding quickly when issues arose. After more than 200 days and nights of hard work, we completed challenges that were 40% ahead of schedule compared to similar projects at FAW-Volkswagen while balancing safe civilized construction with progress quality, achieving both the shortest construction period in project history and a new high in engineering quality.
