On January 5, 2018, the Party Committee of the Ninth Institute held an expanded meeting of the Party Committee and the third session of the Ninth Workers' Congress to deploy work for 2018. More than 100 participants attended the meeting, including members of the Party Committee, senior managers, chief engineers, business directors, employee representatives, and technical backbones. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Mu Xuefeng.
At the meeting, General Manager Liu Shixin presented a summary of the work in 2017 and a report on the work outline for 2018. In 2017, the company strengthened the leadership of the Party, implemented strict governance responsibilities, overcame adverse factors such as the slowdown in investment in the automotive industry and intensified industry competition, actively adjusted its business strategy, deepened traditional markets to increase total volume, developed emerging markets to promote growth, and actively undertook more than 150 key construction projects of the group including the transformation planning and lighting projects for Hongqi L and H platform welding, painting, and assembly; non-metal painting line for Jiefang; mechanized electric control project for FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao welding; and Toyota's new first line. The annual business targets were exceeded. Significant progress was made in promoting standardization, productization, and digitalization, completing six group-level standards and 15 group R&D projects, as well as developing and trial-manufacturing the second generation of intelligent conveyors. A BIM software platform was established and applied in actual projects with good results. The company received 15 awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level. Management system construction was strengthened, a new development plan was formulated, three system revisions were completed, and 21 strategic procurement agreements were signed. Deepening reforms was promoted to implement "four capabilities" and achieve "four strengths," significantly enhancing organizational efficiency and invigorating vitality. Employee quality projects, health projects, and care projects were advanced to build a brand culture for employees, fulfill social responsibilities, and maintain corporate harmony and stability.
When outlining work for 2018, General Manager Liu Shixin emphasized: we must deeply implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, strengthen comprehensive Party leadership, seize market opportunities in new energy vehicles, energy conservation and environmental protection, intelligent manufacturing, and upgrading traditional automobile factories. The main line of work should focus on "structural adjustment, brand building, strengthening foundations, and increasing vitality," concentrating on "reform, innovation, capability, and growth." We will strengthen market development, customer service, project management, technological innovation, procurement system construction, and foundational system construction. Continuous deepening of reforms will enhance capabilities, efficiency, management levels, and competitiveness to support the group's strategic development of "carrying the red flag, pursuing independence, strengthening cooperation, and promoting innovation," ensuring growth in both "double rates" and achieving annual business goals. The new strategy opens a new journey; a new mission calls for new actions! All staff at the Ninth Institute will be guided by the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to adhere to innovation-driven value creation while working together with determination to achieve the full implementation of the Ninth Institute's "13361" strategy and annual work objectives for 2018!
