The first intelligent vehicle application demonstration base in northern China, designed by the Ninth Institute, has been completed. [Reported by Yang Xiaolin] Intelligent vehicles and smart transportation are important engines for the development of many industries in the future. They are essential for China to complete the transformation and upgrading of its automotive industry by 2025 and are also the future development direction of FAW Group. To develop the group's intelligent vehicle industry, the Ninth Institute has designed the first intelligent vehicle and smart transportation application demonstration base in northern China.
The project began planning and design in early 2017, with a plan to complete all construction by the end of 2019, ultimately achieving the goal of supporting 10,000 demonstration vehicles for testing simultaneously. It will also undertake testing and certification work for intelligent vehicles in the national automotive industry, including FAW Group. Currently, the project has completed testing demonstration functions for 11 large scenarios and 233 small scenarios, including 12 test tracks of different specifications and 3 parking lots, capable of simultaneously supporting testing services for 100 intelligent vehicles in functions such as unmanned driving and automatic parking. The first batch of test vehicles entered the base on September 30. According to the plan, this demonstration area will be the first intelligent vehicle and smart transportation application demonstration base in Northeast China based on broadband mobile internet, and the first cold-region intelligent vehicle and smart transportation testing experience base in China. The first phase of this project is a pioneering project, and the project team faced many difficulties. The project leader led an eleven-person team, communicated fully with Qiming Company over three months, and completed the planning feasibility report, project design, and construction of the first phase.
During the implementation of the project, the project team fully supported the construction of the base, thoroughly understood customer needs, repeatedly optimized designs, ultimately saving a significant amount of costs for the client and completing the first phase three months ahead of schedule.
