Under the unified deployment of the hospital's party committee, the Construction Engineering Branch organized a comprehensive discussion on "User Awareness" among all staff and specialized departments throughout May. Upon receiving the notice from the party committee to conduct the "User Awareness" discussion, the branch immediately communicated it to all levels and formulated an activity plan. Three key points were clarified. First, the definition of "user" was expanded from the traditional single party (the client) to include external users such as clients, construction units, supervisors, etc., and internal users including processes and internal professionals who exchange information. Second, the discussion format combined "User Awareness" with quality analysis, where each specialty selected actual typical cases from design operations to discuss in depth based on user needs. Third, the discussion aimed to identify existing problems related to user awareness, analyze their causes, and finally develop measures to solve these problems. Each specialty was required to take this seriously, mobilize all staff, determine topics and discussion times, and prepare thoroughly before discussions.
Through planning, in-depth discussions, and analytical summaries, the branch identified 12 issues related to user awareness, covering aspects such as preliminary plans, on-site services, external communication, internal collaboration, professional capabilities, and attitudes. From the user's perspective and considering the interests of the Ninth Institute, practical and feasible solutions were developed. For example, through discussions, designers generally recognized the decisive impact of preliminary plans on overall project design. They no longer simply complained about the client's unprofessionalism or even rudeness but instead used years of professional design experience from the branch to create a template for client needs. They rationally and professionally assisted clients in organizing task books while accurately grasping their true needs. By utilizing big data analysis and rational thinking to strengthen the essence of plans, they reached a consensus with clients for a win-win outcome for both the Ninth Institute and clients. A deep analysis of on-site service issues revealed two aspects that could be reduced or even avoided: first, poor communication on-site leading to slow feedback on issues; second, quality problems in construction drawings. To address these points, designers needed to enhance user awareness by improving communication skills and using various channels to ensure quick communication with on-site personnel for rapid problem resolution. Additionally, they should strengthen quality awareness and improve professional design capabilities to reduce error rates in drawings and avoid unnecessary modifications or remedial work.
Through this comprehensive discussion on "User Awareness," the branch further unified all employees' service awareness and quality consciousness, encouraged employees to work diligently, think critically, and summarize effectively, thereby enhancing their confidence in performing well in design work and supporting the Ninth Institute.
