In order to enhance design capabilities, strengthen design quality, reduce design costs, improve production efficiency, and implement the requirements of the institute's "improving quality and increasing efficiency, showcasing talents in positions" activity, on May 30, the equipment sector held a special exchange meeting on "cost reduction and efficiency increase" in Room 309 of the North Institute. The exchange meeting was initiated by the mechanization specialty of the equipment sector, with participation from over 20 technical personnel at or above the level of department heads in the mechanization specialty. The meeting was chaired by Li Yunsheng, the dean of the Equipment Engineering Institute and deputy general manager of Lande Company, with Liu Biqi, the deputy chief equipment engineer of the institute, as the main speaker.
Li Yunsheng, the dean of the Equipment Engineering Institute, first analyzed the market situation and pointed out that "improving quality while reducing costs and increasing efficiency" is not only a participation in activities organized by the group and the institute but also a necessity for our own development. He urged everyone to effectively promote quality improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency increase during the design phase through design optimization and lean design.
Liu Biqi, the deputy chief equipment engineer of the institute, took the FAW-Volkswagen Audi body warehouse and FAW-Volkswagen Foshan Phase II assembly line project as examples to propose ideas for optimizing design and reducing costs from perspectives such as calculation, strength verification, material selection, and model selection. He provided in-depth guidance to professional designers and suggested standardization work and unification of design styles. Professional designers engaged in enthusiastic discussions at the meeting, offering suggestions for "cost reduction and efficiency increase" and deeply analyzing existing issues in the design process to lay a solid theoretical foundation for the next phase of quality improvement and cost reduction efforts.
