On the morning of December 2, at the beautiful Liangzhu Dream Town in Yuhang District, Hangzhou, the first World Industrial Design Conference and the 2016 China Excellent Industrial Design Award Ceremony officially kicked off, marking a global industrial design event.
The World Industrial Design Conference is initiated by the China Industrial Design Association in collaboration with design organizations, institutions, enterprises, and universities from over 20 countries and regions. It aims to build a platform for international exchange and cooperation, promote the integration of design innovation with economic and social development, and strengthen design exchanges and cooperation between regions and countries.
The theme of this conference is 'Design · Productivity', which focuses on using design to drive productivity development. During the conference, industry elites from five continents, 26 countries, 43 organizations, and over 500 participants held a series of international summits and multilateral talks to discuss the joint development of the industrial design industry domestically and internationally. They aimed to establish multinational cooperation projects and shared platforms such as a 'Global Design Talent Database', 'International Design Industry Fund', and 'Joint Design Center'.
As a representative of the national-level industrial design center, XCMG Group's Industrial Design Center participated in this conference with its latest R&D products—pure electric road sweepers, diesel road sweepers, and telescopic arm forklifts. Both the pure electric road sweeper and diesel road sweeper were shortlisted for the 2016 China Excellent Industrial Design Award.
Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, presided over the meeting. Ma Kai, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, delivered the opening speech. Other attendees included Xiao Yaqing, Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; Pan Yunhe, Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology; Sun Lin, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the National Development and Reform Commission; Tang Tao, Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Security; Tian Hongqi, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Zhang Chonghe, President of the China Light Industry Federation; as well as key leaders from 15 provinces and cities. After the meeting, all leaders visited the China Industrial Design Exhibition Hall. Jiangsu Province Vice Governor Ma Qiulin visited XCMG Group's booth accompanied by Zhou Yibiao, Deputy Inspector of the Provincial Economic and Information Commission. Deputy General Manager Li Suoyun provided a detailed explanation of XCMG Group's industrial design work. Both Vice Governor Ma Qiulin and Deputy Inspector Zhou Yibiao highly praised XCMG Group's industrial design efforts.
