FAW-Volkswagen Changchun Second Plant Assembly Workshop Technical Renovation Project

The technical transformation project of the assembly workshop at FAW-Volkswagen's Changchun Second Plant is located in Changchun City, Jilin Province, covering an area of 76,000 square meters, with a total investment of approximately 300 million yuan (for non-standard and process equipment). It is based on the demolition and upgrading of the original production line. The new assembly workshop achieves mixed-line production of three models: Magotan B9, CC, and B-SMV, with 100% flexibility, using Volkswagen's new processes, with an annual output of 360,000 vehicles. Among them, the B-SMV model is currently the largest SUV under the Volkswagen brand. Equipment demolition began on August 9, 2019, and SOP was on October 7. The entire construction period was only 58 days, making it a successful model for Volkswagen's process equipment transformation projects.

The project is carried out by MMI Institute IX Institute for feasibility research, scheme design, and construction drawing design. The entire assembly conveyor line consists of self-owned intellectual property rights equipment from MMI Institute IX, including body storage, PBS, BA0 line, trim line, chassis line, assembly line, CP8 plate conveyor, rain test line, door line, seat line, and chassis sub-assembly line. The process equipment mainly includes high-precision and high-reliability assembly and testing equipment such as automatic glue application equipment for windshields, sunroofs, DVD players, dashboards, front-end modules, tire precision positioning auxiliary assembly equipment, fully automatic spare tire installation equipment, complete refueling equipment, vehicle performance testing equipment, driving assistance testing equipment, and integrated electrical testing equipment.

The assembly production line of this project is currently the most complex in structure and the most advanced in technology among mechanized operations in China. The trim line adopts a liftable sliding plate form; the chassis line uses EHB form; and the CP8 line uses plastic plate belts. The processes and equipment have reached an internationally advanced level!
