■ Project Name: Hive Energy Technology (Huzhou) Co., Ltd. Hive Energy Power Lithium-ion Battery Project

■ Product: Lithium-ion power batteries and module PACK

■ Production Scale: Phase I approximately 15GWh, Phase II approximately 14GWh.

■ Construction Content: This project is located in the South Taihu New District of Huzhou City, with a total planned land area of approximately 51.4 hectares (about 771 acres). Among them, Phase I occupies about 258,000 m2, with a building area of about 310,000 m2. The main construction content includes #1 joint factory building, #2 joint factory building, pilot line workshop, #1 module PACK workshop, safety laboratory, performance and physical-chemical laboratory, comprehensive station building, NMP tank area, various warehouses, sewage treatment station and fire pump room, 110kV substation, canteen, comprehensive building, etc.; Phase II occupies about 256,000 m2, with a building area of about 308,000 m2. The main construction content includes #3 electrode and assembly workshop, #4 electrode and assembly workshop, #3 formation workshop, #4 formation workshop, #2 module PACK workshop, comprehensive station building, NMP tank area, various warehouses, canteen, dormitory, etc.

■ Project Progress: Phase I has been gradually put into production since June 2023, and Phase II is expected to complete the installation of process equipment by the end of 2024.

■ Project Design Concept

This project adopts lean concepts with the goal of building an economical factory. It emphasizes economy, practicality, reliability, and maturity while strictly controlling investment scale based on quality assurance. Following the principles of automation and minimal manpower usage, it selects high-quality and flexible equipment to meet manufacturing precision requirements and improve labor productivity. While ensuring product quality, it aims to use advanced and mature high-quality, efficient, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly equipment from well-known domestic manufacturers to reduce construction costs.

■ Project Features

The cell production equipment uses well-known domestic and foreign brands; core production processes and equipment with high precision requirements are fully imported to ensure product quality and competitive advantage; the cell manufacturing process is mature with both volume energy density and weight energy density of single cells reaching leading levels domestically and internationally. The battery production process strictly controls moisture management and dust management; 60% of the production processes are conducted in clean rooms. The product competitiveness is leading both domestically and internationally. Benchmarking is conducted in aspects such as battery management during production, quality management, manufacturing management, and cost management to ensure that the final product has competitive capabilities comparable to domestic and international peers.

The module production uses advanced equipment such as new high-strength plasma cleaning heads and galvanometer laser welding heads to improve workpiece processing speed with industry-leading production rhythm; it employs a servo system for automatic adjustment and modular quick-change design to achieve line flexibility; it uses pre-measurement and dimension prediction processes before cell stacking to enhance module stacking efficiency.
